Fox Chairman and CEO Dana Walden teased TV critics Thursday about a potential live-action X-Men series that may come to her network.
“We’re in negotiations with Marvel,” Walden said in a reporter scrum following her Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour executive session panel. “We’re hopeful that we’ll be able to announce something soon.”
She was sure to stipulate: “We’re not close to a deal yet, but it’s something that we’re definitely pursuing.”
Of course, there is one other snag.
“The characters from the X-Men franchise are with Fox on the feature side, so we won’t be including Marvel characters that are at ABC with Disney,” she continued. “This will be the franchise as it exists exclusively with Fox.”
