Woody Allen has added a number of stars to his new Amazon series, including Lewis Black and Joy Behar.
Other new cast members added to the untitled half-hour series include Becky Ann Baker (“Girls”), Margaret Ladd (“Falcon Crest”), Rebecca Schull (“Wings”), David Harbour (“Black Mass”),Christine Ebersole (“Amadeus”), and Michael Rapaport (“Mighty Aphrodite”).
Elaine May, Miley Cyrus, John Magaro, and Rachel Brosnahan have previously been announced as cast members on the show, who will star alongside Allen in his first ever scripted series.
Users will be able to watch the series exclusively on Prime Instant Video in the U.S., U.K. and Germany. The famous director offered some of his trademark neuroticism over his new series when it was announced last year.
“I don’t know how I got into this. I have no ideas and I’m not sure where to begin,” he said. “My guess is that Roy Price[Amazon Studios VP] will regret this.”
Allen made similar comments during a press conference at the recent Cannes Film Festival. “It was a catastrophic mistake for me,” the 79-year-old director said to laughter in the Cannes press room. “I’m doing my best with it, but I should never have gotten into it.”
“I thought six half-hours would be a cinch, but it’s not. It’s very, very hard. I’m not good at it, I’m floundering. It could be a cosmic embarrassment.”
