Will Smith might throw a monkey wrench into the presidential campaign.
The star actor told CBS News that Donald Trump’s “crazy” comments suggesting a ban on all Muslims from entering the U.S. may force him to run for the highest office in the land.
“If people keep saying all the crazy kinds of stuff they’ve been saying on the news lately about walls and Muslims, they’re going to force me into the political arena,” Smith said in an interview with CBS Sunday Morning.
Asked what office he’d run for, Smith called out the obvious.
“I mean, I gotta be the president. Come on! What else would I run for?””
Fresh off of a Golden Globes nomination for Best Actor for his role in “Concussion,” Smith said he’s still got a lot left to prove.
Smith said he advises his kids to “be as unrealistic as possible, and then figure out how to make it real.”
“The best things that have ever happened, ever, were unrealistic before they happened. So for me, I think being the biggest movie star in the world as a goal actually was too small!”
