Was his show falling in the ratings? No. Had Leno lost a step? No. So why did NBC force him to step aside (for a second time!) and make way for younger talent? Shifting demographics may be network’s answer, but that doesn’t mean it’s an acceptable explanation. As much as Sneider respects incoming host Jimmy Fallon, it’ll be hard to replicate Leno’s success.
