The Opening Ceremony took place Wednesday night at the Grand Théâtre Lumière and featured a ballet choreographed by Benjamin Millepied, husband of his “Black Swan” costar Natalie Portman, whose feature film directorial debut “A Tale of Love and Darkness” is featured among the festival’s Special Screenings.
Lambert Wilson then welcomed on stage the feature films jury members Rossy de Palma, Sophie Marceau, Sienna Miller, Rokia Traoré, Guillermo del Toro, Xavier Dolan, Jake Gyllenhaal and jury presidents Joel and Ethan Coen.
Actress Julianne Moore declared the Festival open, followed by the Out of Competition screening of Emmanuelle Bercot’s “La Tête Haute.”
