Jennifer Hudson will return to “The Voice” as a coach for Season 15 of the NBC singing competition, it was announced on Thursday.
Kelly Clarkson, who is serving as a first-time coach on the currently airing 14th season, will also be back, as will regulars Adam Levine and Blake Shelton. Alicia Keys, the current fourth chair, will sit the next cycle out.
Hudson last served as coach on Season 13 alongside Levine, Shelton and Miley Cyrus.
“We are so excited to welcome back Kelly and Jennifer, two dynamic forces who bring undeniable soul, passion and inspiration as coaches” said NBC unscripted boss Paul Telegdy. “They each have a unique understanding of what it’s like to be in the artists’ shoes. Bringing these two voices together with Blake and Adam for Season 15 is sure to make this one of our best seasons yet!”
Hudson and Clarkson are both alums of the Fox-turned-ABC singing competition “American Idol.” Clarkson was the show’s first-ever winner in 2002, and Hudson finished in seventh place on the show’s third season.
