Erin McPherson has departed her post as chief content officer at Maker Studios, TheWrap has confirmed.
McPherson joined in 2013 from Yahoo, where she led video strategy. Her arrival predated the Walt Disney Company’s purchase of Maker Studios in 2014. She was part of the executive team brought on board to guide the company as it transitioned out from under the leadership of Danny Zappin, company co-founder.
Zappin resigned as CEO of Maker in April, 2013, and was succeeded by current CEO Ynon Kreiz. McPherson joined the company in November of that year.
SVP of marketing Jeremy Welt has also left the company.
Disney acquired Maker Studios, a digital video network, in 2014 for a cost of at least $500 million. The deal had performance benchmarks built into it that, if cleared, would inflate the cost to $950 million, but it is not known whether Maker has acheived those goals.
Maker Studios was founded Zappin, Lisa Donovan and Ben Donovan in 2009.
