(Spoiler alert: Do not keep reading if you are not caught up on “The Walking Dead”)
“The Walking Dead” aired the second half of Season 5 and the first half of Season 6 2015 — and both were filled with some truly unbelievable moments.
We lost a few fan favorite characters along the way, while others managed to cheat death (at least for now). But throughout it all, the AMC zombie apocalypse drama kept us on the edge of our seats.
Check out the most shocking moments from “The Walking Dead” in 2015 below.
Tyrese Drops the Hammer
Tyrese (Chad Coleman), everybody’s favorite hammer-swinging walker killer, let his guard down for just a second in the second half of Season 5. But that second was enough for a walker to sink its teeth into his arm. With that, one of our favorite characters was dead.
Noah Gets Torn to Shreds
Noah (Tyler James Williams) joined the show in the first half of Season 5. He didn’t last long, though, as he was literally torn to pieces while out on a run for the people of Alexandria in the second half of the season as Glenn (Steven Yeun) looked on in horror.
Rick Goes Nuts
Rick (Andrew Lincoln) tried to convince the people of Alexandria that what was happening outside the walls was tantamount to hell. But they did not grasp the animal that Rick had to be to survive until he and Pete (Corey Brill) got into a bloody brawl in the center of town.
Pete Kills Reg
Pete was the town doctor for Alexandria, but he also drank and abused his wife, Jessie (Alexandra Breckenridge). He showed up drunk to a town meeting to decide his and Rick’s fates after their fight toting Michonne’s sword. When Reg (Steve Coulter) tried to reason with him, Pete accidentally cut Reg’s throat.
Rick Kills Pete
Pete and Rick did not get along from the moment they met, mostly because Pete was a complete tool who drank and abused his wife. But after Pete killed Reg in a drunken rage, Deanna (Tovah Feldshuh) gave Rick the go-ahead to execute Pete.
Enid Chows Down
Enid (Katelyn Nacon) was a real loner during Season 6, but with good reason. The teenager watched her parents die and was forced to live on her own, maintaining the mantra of “just survive somehow.” Surviving included munching on a raw turtle in order to stay alive.
Glenn Is Dead?!?
The Internet damn near exploded when Glenn fell off a dumpster into a herd of walkers. But there was widespread speculation that he had survived by crawling under the dumpster to safety. Fans were left scratching their heads until …
Glenn Is Alive!
After weeks of speculation, fans were elated when Glenn emerged from underneath the dumpster no worse for wear than when he went under. He still had to battle his way back to Alexandria, but people were just happy that this fan favorite was still alive.
The Tower Comes Down
A walker herd surrounded the walled community of Alexandria, but luckily the walls were strong enough to keep them out. But when the church tower outside the walls collapsed and brought the walls down, walkers flooded inside and everyone’s life now hangs in the balance.
Negan Is Coming
After it was announced that Jeffrey Dean Morgan would play the big, bad Negan from the comics, fans were eager for a hint of the new character. That teaser came after the midseason finale in a post-credit scene in which Daryl (Norman Reedus), Abraham (Michael Cudlitz), and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) run into a group of bikers who say they work for none other than Negan himself.
