Things got contentious on Monday’s edition of “The View” when co-host Nicolle Wallace questioned newly-minted Raven-Symoné about how many autographs the actress has to sign.
When Raven-Symoné said her hand gets cramped when signing autographs for fans, Wallace chimed in, “You’re that famous?” Symoné did not look too happy about the comment, but Wallace couldn’t contain her laughter.
“And that’s why I love you, Nicolle,” the former “Cosby Show” star said. “Keep me in check, as you should. Keep me right in check.” Wallace explained herself, saying you would have to sign a lot of signatures to get a cramp. Raven-Symoné replied, “Back in the day, when I was famous. You know, when I had a TV show.”
“Get over it,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said. “You still got a TV show. you’re on this one.” The discussion came up when Republican Presidential hopeful Ben Carson wrote an op-ed stating he no longer wanted to take selfies with people.
“I mean, I don’t have a problem with selfies as long as you ask me first,” Raven-Symoné said. “It’s different. Back in the days there was Polaroids I guess. But we listen to your talking and all of your points and they’re saying they don’t like selfies because they are not able to look you in the eye.”
“You stand there and take a selfie,” Wallace said. “You’re asking them to vote for you and run this country. You stand there and take the damn selfie.”
