ABC’s hit sitcom “The Goldbergs” returns Wednesday night with its first episode of the new year, and we’re not talking about Rosh Hashanah.
In “The Tasty Boys,” Murray (Jeff Garlin) doesn’t budge when Beverly (Wendi McLendon-Covey) wants to remodel their kitchen like the Kremps. Beverly devises a plan to do the work herself but messes up on purpose, so Murray is forced to fix it — though it doesn’t go exactly as planned.
The “Tasty Boys” title derives from a Barry-flavored riff on ’80s hip-hop stars the Beastie Boys. The episode was written by Steve Basilone and Annie Mebane, and directed by Christine Gernon.
Guest stars include Jennifer Irwin as Virginia Kremp; David Koechner as Bill Lewis; Sam Lerner as Geoff Schwartz; Noah Munck as Naked Rob; Matt Bush as Andy Cogan; Sean Marquette as Johnny Atkins; Alex Jennings as Carla and Nate Hartley as Dan.
For fans who have missed “The Goldbergs,” it’ll be nice to have America’s favorite dysfunctional family back on TV with their big mouths, big hearts and big hair.
Written and executive produced by Adam F. Goldberg, “The Goldbergs” is produced by Adam Sandler and Doug Robinson’s Happy Madison TV and Adam F. Goldberg Productions in association with Sony Pictures Television.
“The Goldbergs” returns on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 8:30 ET on ABC.
