Time Warner Cable had a worse Super Bowl than Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos, who at least stayed on the field.
The cable provider’s Super Bowl transmission to thousands of Los Angeles viewers was lost midway through the second quarter and continued through the halftime show featuring Bruno Mars and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.

The cable company announced via Twitter about 4:45 p.m. it was having an issue with transmitting the feed from Fox. The issue was affecting Southern California stations KTTV (Fox), KCAL and KTLA as well.

The cause of the blackout was unknown and it was unclear how many customers were affected.
“We have resolved a technical issue with the standard definition signal and apologize for the inconvenience to our customers,” a TWC spokeswoman told TheWrap, and said more details would be forthcoming. High-def signals weren’t affected, the company said.
The signal was restored about halfway through the third quarter.
