Is Steve From ‘Stranger Things’ Jean-Ralphio’s Father? ‘Parks and Rec’ Star Ben Schwartz Answers (Video)

“I’d say that Jean-Ralphio probably lived 50 percent of his life in the Upside Down,” the comedic actor theorizes

Ben Schwartz has just answered one of the Internet’s hottest burning questions: Is Steve from “Stranger Things” the real father of “Parks and Recreation” character Jean-Ralphio?

Obviously, no. But the actor who played Jean-Ralphio gave a two-minute response to the joke only fans of both the hit Netflix horror series and the NBC sitcom will understand.

According to Schwartz, yes, Steve (Joe Keery) is absolutely the father. Not only do they look similar in appearance, but Schwartz argues the trauma the high school stud experienced in 1983 perfectly explains why the hilariously dumb “Parks and Rec” fan-favorite character.

“What I assume — and what I assume America and the world assumes now — is that Steve and Nancy, this traumatic event happens, and that of course messes with your system, whether it be a woman’s eggs or a man’s sperm,” Schwartz explained. “And so that scared, scared sperm and that traumatized egg met together roughly a year and three months after the occurrence, and that becomes Jean-Ralphio.”

“If I was to add to the theory, I’d say that Jean-Ralphio probably lived 50 percent of his life in the Upside Down,” Schwartz continued. “But he was like super chill. He was super cool in the Upside Down. Like, he ran that s–t.”
