“Steve Austin‘s Broken Skull Challenge” kicks off its fourth season in November, and Austin wants competitors to know that he won’t be taking it easy on them any time soon.
“The Skull Buster, there’s going to be a couple of element changes there,” Austin told TheWrap. “In those first two, three seasons people got a look at that Skull Buster and started training specifically for it by almost replicating it in some shape or fashion. So we keep changing things up so … they get something different from what they expected.”
In an exclusive trailer for Season 4 obtained by TheWrap, we get a look at a few of those obstacles, including The Dome. The obstacle requires contestants to scale a wall and work their way across its domed top in order to get back down.
Austin, one of the biggest stars in the history of professional wrestling, says that he truly enjoys his new role as the host of the series for a number of reasons.
“I love being in the outdoors,” he said. “And we’re out in the desert on top of a mountain so the surrounding is absolutely phenomenal. Then you bring in some of the best athletes from across the United States of America for some heavy duty competition. That’s what I like the most about it.”
And for all you viewers at home who may be spending too much time on the couch, Austin wants you to know that the Skull Buster could be in your future if you work at it.
“Cardio doesn’t have to be on a treadmill. You can walk around the block, you can walk up stairs,” he said. “It’s easy to find something to do … You can get online and create your own home workout routine in five minutes and do it in your driveway. But you’ve got to apply some consistency to it.”
“Steve Austin‘s Broken Skull Challenge” Season 4 premiere on Nov. 13 at 10 p.m./9c on CMT.
