If that whole horror-novelist thing doesn’t work out for Stephen King, there might be a bright new career available for him: Coming up with new crazy things for Donald Trump to accuse Barack Obama of.
On Saturday, after President Trump unleashed accusations that former President Obama wiretapped Trump Tower prior to the 2016 presidential election, “The Shining” author whipped up some social media magic of his own and provided more bizarre Obama scenarios for the new POTUS to ponder.
“Not only did Obama tap Trump’s phones, he stole the strawberry ice cream out of the mess locker,” King tweeted Saturday.
Which was joined by, “Obama tapped Trump’s phones IN PERSON! Went in wearing a Con Ed coverall. Michelle stood guard while O spliced the lines. SAD!”
Then there was the horror-themed, “Trump should know OBAMA NEVER LEFT THE WHITE HOUSE! He’s in the closet! HE HAS SCISSORS!”

Trump raised eyebrows once again early Saturday, offering no evidence for his claim but stating that his predecessor ran a “Nixon/Watergate” plot “during the very sacred election process.” He also called Obama a “bad (or sick) guy!” and likened the unfounded efforts to “McCarthyism.”
He also said the supposed surveillance resulted in “nothing found.”
A spokesman for former president Obama refuted Trump’s claims shortly thereafter, calling them “unequivocally false.”
“Neither @barackobama nor any WH official under Obama has ever ordered surveillance on any US Citizen. Any suggestion is unequivocally false,” Kevin Lewis tweeted Saturday.
In a statement, Lewis continued, “A cardinal rule of the Obama Administration was that no White House official ever interfered with any independent investigation led by the Department of Justice.” As part of that practice, neither President Obama nor any White House official ever ordered surveillance on any U.S. citizen. Any suggestion otherwise is simply false.”
