Starz set the mood for Valentine’s Day weekend early on Thursday and released a new trailer for “Outlander,” the network’s hit series based on Diane Galbadon’s fantasy romance novels. The period sci-fi drama returns for the back half of Season 1 in April.
The trailer is set for a theatrical release this weekend, too, appearing in front of another adaptation of a best-selling romance novel, “Fifty Shades of Grey.”
Jamie Fraser (Sam Heughan) narrates the new trailer, which focuses heavily on his steamy, shirtless romance with Claire Randall (Caitrona Balfe).
“I remember every moment. Every second. It was as if I stepped outside on a cloudy day and suddenly the sun came out,” Jamie says in a swoon-worthy voiceover. “You are my home now.”
For the unacquainted, “Outlander” follows Claire, a married WWII combat nurse, as she accidentally goes back in time to 1743. She eventually falls for the roguish Jamie and must reconcile her modern mindset with this 18th century world.
“Outlander” returns Saturday, April 4 at 9 p.m. on Starz.
