Harrison Ford showed up onstage at the American Music Awards Sunday following host Jennifer Lopez‘s introduction of new footage from “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.” Ford introduced a tribute to the film franchise by a cappella group Pentatonix.
The clip from the newest “Star Wars” movie featured new heroes Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Finn (John Boyega) on the run in an explosive situation.
Directed by J.J. Abrams, Episode VII of George Lucas‘ iconic sci-fi franchise also stars Adam Driver, Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis and Domhnall Gleeson.
The story is set approximately 30 years after “Return of the Jedi.”
“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” will hit theaters around the world on Dec. 18.
