Mark Hamill has addressed speculation that Luke Skywalker will die in “Star Wars: Episode VIII” after he stated he will be “out of work” when production wraps.
“I meant ‘out of work’ because #Ep8 is wrapping soon, OK?” #DontOverThinkEVERYTHING #ParsingHamill #WaitForVIII,” the actor tweeted Monday.
Over the weekend, Hamill was on stage at The Big Issue event in London, where he reportedly stated, “I finish ‘Episode VIII,’ and then I’m out of work.”
Fans immediately speculated that the Jedi wouldn’t make it out of Rian Johnson‘s “Star Wars” sequel alive when it hits theaters on May 23, 2019.
People are clearly on edge after “The Force Awakens,” in which an unanticipated death occurred and Skywalker only appeared in the last two minutes of the movie.
John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Gwendoline Christie, Dohmnall Gleeson, Lupita Nyong’o, Carrie Fisher, Anthony Daniels, and Andy Serkis are returning for the next installment, along with franchise newcomers Benicio Del Toro, Laura Dern, and Kelly Marie Tran.
