“Star Trek” actor John Cho is set to star in a new USA drama called “Connoisseur” in development at the network, TheWrap has learned.
Cho will play Clay Park, an intelligent con artist who deceives the most powerful people in the country into paying a lot of money for fake wine.
His life of crime lands him in the midst of a dangerous deal with a gang, under the FBI’s watch and has him discovering the details of a tragedy that broke his family apart.
Cho will also executive produce the series along with Gary Lundy and Ben Watkins, whose credits include “Hand of God” and “Burn Notice.”
USA bought the script which is based on an original idea by Lundy.
Watkins will produce under his company, Blue Monday Productions, with his producing partner, Eli Dansky.
Cho most recently starred as Sulu in “Star Trek Beyond,” which was released in theaters in late July.
The former “Harold & Kumar” star has had roles in other television shows through the years, including a starring role in the short-lived ABC sitcom “Selfie.”
