‘South Park’ Missing Air Date for First Time Ever Due to Power Outage

Wednesday’s “Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers” will air next week instead

“South Park” is missing its first air date ever Wednesday. They simply didn’t have the power — literally.

On Tuesday night, South Park Studios lost power. Animation, rendering, editing and sound computers were all down for hours. Due to the show’s well-known last-minute approach to finalizing episodes, tonight’s new show, Episode 1704 “Goth Kids 3: Dawn of the Posers” will not be done in time for air.

It is the 240th episode in the cartoon’s history.

Co-creator Trey Parker said, “It sucks to miss an air date but after all these years of tempting fate by delivering the show last minute, I guess it was bound to happen.”

In its place, Comedy Central will air a Live-Tweeted presentation of “Scott Tenorman Must Die” at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT. The new episode will air next Wednesday, Oct. 23.
