Fans are usually grateful when a favorite show gets renewed. But it’s not working out that way for Fox’s fantasy “Sleepy Hollow.”
No sooner had Fox given the series a surprise fourth season pickup on Friday than fans — or perhaps more accurately, former fans — took to Twitter to blast the network for killing off Abbie, the female lead played by Nicole Beharie, in the season finale last month. Some have even accused the network of racism because Beharie is black and was one of the very few African-American actors heading up a broadcast network series.
For the record, Beharie had reportedly been eager to leave the show for some time, but that consideration seems not to have moved many fans.
Many have written that Fox might as well have canceled “Sleepy Hollow,” because they have already bailed.
Wait, so they’re renewing #SleepyHollow WITHOUT Nicole Beharie? It’s like they purposely want to lose viewers…

So they renewed #SleepyHollow, just so they can cancel it after season 4 b/c let’s face it, they lost their audience/fans with THAT move.
