Dropping five months after the film broke its own set of records, the soundtrack for “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is now available on some specially enhanced vinyl.
Hand etched by holography expert Tristan Duke (yes, that’s a thing!), the two-LP set from Walt Disney Records features a 3D hologram of the Millennium Falcon on Disc 1 and a TIE Fighter that emerges when you play Disc 2.
And — oh yeah — John Williams’ original music is on there, too, optimized by Direct Metal Mastering (DMM).
If that’s not enough for megafans, the LP set also includes 16 pages of liner notes from director J.J. Abrams.
But before you can trip out on 3D “Star Wars” spacecrafts emerging from your record player, be sure to shine a direct light above your spinning vinyl in order to see the holograms.
The eye-and-ear-popping set is available June 17 and will set you back $50.
