Sean Penn is a killer trying to clear his name and expose the terrible truth about an organization he worked for in a new trailer for “The Gunman.”
The international preview for the March 20 Open Road Films release sets up Penn as a former special forces soldier attempting to repent for “the biggest mistake” of his life: The assassination of an important public figure in Africa.
According to the synopsis, Penn embarks on one last mission to expose the organization that set him up before he settle down with a longtime love, played by Jasmine Trinca.
Javier Bardem, Idris Elba, Ray Winstone and Mark Rylance co-star in the thriller directed by Pierre Morel (“Taken”).
