Ryan Gosling has signed with CAA, according to multiple reports.
The Oscar nominee has been without an agent since 2013. He is currently managed by LBI Entertainment’s Ilene Feldman, who used to serve as Gosling’s agent until she closed her agency, IFA Talent. He is also managed by Carolyn Govers at Anonymous Content.
This is Gosling’s first signing with a major agency, having spent his early career doing mostly indie films like “Only God Forgives” and “Blue Valentine,” though he did get some mainstream attention through titles like “Remember The Titans” and “The Notebook.” Since pressing on in Hollywood without an agent, he made his directorial debut with the fantasy noir “Lost River,” which he also wrote and produced. On the acting side, he starred in last year’s Oscar-nominated dramedy “The Big Short,” as well as Shane Black’s comedic detective romp “The Nice Guys.”
But it’s his work with director Damien Chazelle and co-star Emma Stone in “La La Land” that has rocketed to his first Golden Globe Award. He is also considered by handicappers to be one of the favorites to win the Best Actor Oscar, contending alongside Casey Affleck. He has recently finished filming on “Blade Runner 2049” with Harrison Ford and Denis Villeneuve, and will reunite with Chazelle to star in a biopic about famed astronaut Neil Armstrong and the Apollo 11 mission.
