Rupert Murdoch’s wallet is thinner this year as his New Corp compensation dropped 42 percent to $5.1 million.
A regulatory filing on Tuesday showed the media mogul’s pay down for the fiscal year ending in June compared to $8.70 million in 2014.
His salary of $1 million held steady, but his stock awards’ value freefalled over $5 million to under $2.1 million. Murdoch’s non-equity incentive pay fell to $2 million vs. $2.7 million in 2014.
News Corp CEO Robert Thomson’s pay totaled $10.3 million, down vs. $12.5 million the year before. Murdoch’s 21st Century Fox compensation will be announced at a later date.
