Rosie O’Donnell Denies Rosie Perez Is Leaving ‘View’ in Expletive-Laden Hot Topics Segment

At the beginning of Thursday’s “The View,” Rosie O’Donnell shot down reports that co-host Rosie Perez is departing the show.

“And no matter what you read anywhere, Rosie Perez is also coming back after she is done rehearsing her play [Larry David’s Broadway show]…regardless of what you hear in other shows or read in magazines as I did last night at 11:40 and went what the…” O’Donnell said before the camera cut away and bleeped her cursing.

As TheWrap reported Wednesday, Perez is expected to depart the program. The network has reached the conclusion that it has steered its panel too old, and ABC executives are now aiming for replacements with youth appeal.

“Orange Is the New Black” star Laverne Cox and “Glee” alum Naya Rivera are on the preliminary short list.

Perez joined the show alongside new co-host Nicolle Wallace and returning co-host Rosie O’Donnell in September.
