Vin Diesel took to Instagram Friday to announce that his production company has begun work on another “Riddick” sequel and a spinoff TV series.

“Last night Our company had a party to launch Our TV division,” Diesel wrote in a post accompanying a still from the series. “Very exciting. MERC CITY is a show that will follow the Mercs and Bounty Hunters of the Riddick Universe.”

“Next Month, DT [writer-director David Twohy] begins writing the next Chapter in the Chronicles of Riddick… FURIA,” the post continued.

The last installment in the series was 2013’s “Riddick,” which Diesel’s company One Road Films produced after acquiring the rights to the franchise from Universal. Despite mixed reviews, the movie went on to earn $98 million at the box office.

“Riddick” was preceded by 2000’s “Pitch Black,” which served as Diesel’s breakout role, and “The Chronicles of Riddick” in 2004.
