“Hot Pursuit’s” Sofia Vergara hit up her costar Reese Witherspoon for a part when Andy Cohen bandied about the idea of a “Legally Blonde 3” on Thursday’s “Watch What Happens Live.”
Witherspoon confessed that people have asked about the franchise, one suggesting that lead character Elle Woods, who the actress portrayed, should go to jail.
“Or into the Army,” offered Cohen, invoking another popular heroine, Private Benjamin.
It might not be such a bad idea to revisit Elle, the popular character from the early 2000s, given the reviews the actresses’ new road-trip buddy comedy has received — a truly unfortunate 4 percent from RottenTomatoes.com‘s survey of top critics.
On Bravo’s “WWHL,” Witherspoon also talked about her ex-husband, Ryan Phillippe, and admitted that their children haven’t seen “Cruel Intentions,” the contemporized 1999 film adaptation of 1782 novel “Les Liaisons dangereuses” (“Dangerous Liaisons”) in which they both starred.
“They haven’t seen the movie. They don’t have any interest in seeing me in a movie,” said the actress, who won an Oscar for her performance in “Walk the Line” and was nominated again this year for “Wild.”
“It’s weird for them. And especially seeing me and their dad having, like, sex in the movie is so weird!”
