Stormy Daniels, the porn actress who said she had an affair with Donald Trump before he became president, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday, saying that he and his attorney Michael Cohen “aggressively sought to silence” her when she planned to make her story public in late 2016.

The lawsuit seeks to nullify the “Hush Agreement” Cohen had Daniels, real name Stephanie Clifford, sign days before the election on the grounds that Trump never signed it himself.

In January, The Wall Street Journal reported that Cohen had arranged to pay Daniels $130,000 to buy her silence about a sexual encounter she had with Trump. According to the paper, Clifford said “privately” the encounter with Trump took place during a July 2006 celebrity golf tournament in Lake Tahoe, a year after Trump married his wife Melania.
