Adam Sandler dominated the Razzie Awards Wednesday, as voters for Hollywood’s most dubious honor, showered “Grown Ups 2” with eight nominations.
The annual awards recognize the worst movies and performances. Sandler’s comedy sequel was panned by critics, earning a doleful 7 percent “fresh” rating on Rotten Tomatoes, and now is in the running for Worst Film, Worst Actor, and Worst Supporting Actor and Actress for Taylor Lautner and Salma Hayek. If Sandler wins Worst Actor, it will be his third victory in a row, coming on the heels of “That’s My Boy” and “Jack & Jill.”

Also earning a spot in the annals of shame were “A Madea Christmas,” “Movie 43” and “After Earth,” all of which picked up six nominations. “Madea” star Taylor Perry was actually cited in the Worst Actress category for his cross-dressing performance.
Pity poor Sylvester Stallone. The aging action star’s three films (“Grudge Match,” “Bullet to the Head” and “Escape Plan”) were all deemed among the year’s worst acting.

Johnny Depp has charged a vast critical conspiracy for the failure of “The Lone Ranger,” but the actor found no sympathy among Razzie voters, who gave the box office bomb five nominations, including one for Worst Picture. Depp’s work as a bird-wearing Tonto was among the five Worst Actor nominees.
Winners of this year’s Razzies will be announced March 1, which is the day before the Academy Awards. Occasionally, as in the case of Sandra Bullock and Halle Berry, victors even show up to collect their statue.
