Just hours after his headline-grabbing interview with “CBS This Morning,” Singer R. Kelly was taken back into custody Wednesday over unpaid child support, according to the Cook County Sheriff’s Office.

Cook County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sam Randall told TheWrap that Kelly was transferred to Cook County Jail on Wednesday afternoon after a judge found that Kelly was behind on his child support payments.

The singer owes his ex-wife more than $161,000 for the care of their three children and will have to pay the full amount before he is released, the spokesperson said.

According to CBS Chicago, Kelly must pay $20,000 a month in child support per his divorce agreement, but stopped making payments in the spring.

The arrest comes about two weeks after the singer paid $100,000 in bail money in order to be released from custody on sexual abuse charges.

Last month, Kelly was indicted on 10 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse. Cook County prosecutors said that Kelly abused four victims, including three of them that were underage at the time. Kelly and his attorney have denied the accusations.

Representatives for Kelly did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Wednesday’s development.

Just hours before appearing in court, Kelly told CBS News’ Gayle King in an interview with “CBS This Morning” that he “didn’t do this stuff” and said he’s fighting for his life.

“I’m not Lucifer. I’m a man. I make mistakes, but I’m not a devil, and by no means am I a monster,” Kelly told King.

Kelly’s next court appearance on this case was set for March 13, at 9:3o a.m.
