Starz Chief on New Stripper Drama: ‘Pussy Valley’ Is ‘Right Title for That Show’

TCA 2016: “It’s a story about cats,” Starz CEO deflects question about new series’ title

Starz CEO Chris Albrecht fielded a question Monday morning about the title printability of his new stripper series, “Pussy Valley” — particularly within the generally conservative confines of newspapers. (Yes, they still exist.)

“It’s a story about cats,” the Starz chief executive deflected at first, before offering a sincere answer for the questioner at the Television Critics Association Summer Press Tour. “It’s … the right title for the show. I don’t know that we’ll run into trouble, but that remains to be seen.”

After all, “Pussy Valley” is the name of the source material, and that’s been printed, he pointed out.

Starz followed Ovation TV this morning in the Beverly Hilton International Ballroom. Panels for the pay-TV channel’s “Ash vs. Evil Dead,” “Power” and “American Gods” were set to follow Albrecht’s stage time.
