Hollywood’s biggest night has come to a close, with “Spotlight” leapfrogging heavy favorite “The Revenant” to win Best Picture.
It wasn’t all a letdown for the outdoor epic, however: Leonardo DiCaprio finally won his first Oscar and “Revenant” director Alejandro G. Inarritu took home a trophy in his own individual category.
The first acting award of the night — Supporting Actress — went to Alicia Vikander for her role in “The Danish Girl.” Brie Larson later won Best Leading Actress for “Room.” Best Supporting Actor went to Mark Rylance for his excellent turn in “Bridge of Spies.”
