Nicole Kidman Stalks a Bear, Charms Peter Capaldi in New ‘Paddington’ Clip (Exclusive Video)

The family comedy based on the classic literary character is now playing in the US

Nicole Kidman has her eye on an adorable animated bear and Peter Capaldi has his eye on her, in a new teaser released from “Paddington.”

In the exclusive video (above), Kidman’s evil taxidermist Millicent is out for Paddington’s hide, and stalks him to his new home in London with the Brown family. There she encounters Reginald Curry (played by “Doctor Who” star Capaldi), who has a distaste for Paddington as well.

The Paul King-directed family comedy based on the classic children’s books by Michael Bond has been well-received by critics and audiences since its release.

“There are plenty of laughs — and nothing that goes over a kid’s head to an adult funny bone is smutty or smarmy — and the sentiment never feels strained or artificial,” said TheWrap film critic Aloso Duralde in his review. “I won’t deny getting a little choked up when they give the bear his famous blue duffle coat in a moment of familial love.”

“Paddington” is also winning over the box office, where The Weinstein Company film debuted with a surprisingly strong $25.2 million at the box office over the four-day Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend.

The film is now playing in wide release.
