MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough ripped Donald Trump on Tuesday, saying the president’s recent comments about Andrew Jackson and the Civil War sound like someone with dementia.
“My mother’s has had dementia for 10 years,” Scarborough said. “That sounds like the sort of thing my mother would say today.”
Scarborough continued: “That’s something that a 5-year-old might ask, but that is not anything that any grown up, that I have been around in my entire life would ever let pass from their lips.”
Co-host Mika Brzezinski said “it’s disturbing” that there isn’t anyone in the White House who can get Trump to stop talking.
“I can only imagine that his staff is sitting there with their head in their hands,” she said. “No one can stop him… He’s not listening to anyone.”
Scarborough also offered a review of Trump’s recent interview with “Face the Nation” host John Dickerson, when the president essentially kicked the reporter out of the Oval Office.
“He was mumbling, rambling around, incoherent and then just sort of quit talking,” Scarborough said.
Regular guest Mike Barnicle chimed in, calling it “depressing to read the transcripts” that come after an interview with Trump.
“He rambles on,” Barnicle said.
