“Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough on Wednesday issued a scathing monologue on President Donald Trump’s “frantic” Tuesday press conference, calling him “the president… not only of America, but also the white nationalist movement.”
Trump sent viewers into a tizzy when he said “both sides” were responsible for violence in Charlottesville, while also claiming there were some “very fine people” attending the white nationalist rally. Scarborough said Trump essentially “stopped history in its tracks” with his comments Tuesday.
“None of us have ever seen anything like what happened yesterday,” Scarborough said.
“It was despicable,” co-host Willie Geist said.
Scarborough said that Trump’s own staff members were lied to because they weren’t prepared for the “wild tirade” that occurred at Trump Tower.
