Michael Cera Has ‘Beef’ With Christopher Meloni in First Trailer for Digital Series (Video)

The show will also include appearances by Lizzy Caplan, Joe Lo Truglio and more

A courtroom comedy set in a butcher shop? Where else but on VOD.

Paramount Digital Entertainment has premiered the first trailer for their series “Beef,” which stars “Law & Order: SVU” alum Christopher Meloni as Lou, a butcher shop owner who also acts as judge and jury for anyone in the neighborhood who has “beef” with someone.

Among the plaintiffs and defendants who stop by for Lou’s judgment are Michael Cera as a waiter who screams profanities involuntarily, and Lizzy Caplan as one half of a couple with a lackluster sex life.

Yes, absurdities abound, but it’s the kind of over the top parody that’s proven successful on platforms like Adult Swim and Paramount Digital’s own “Burning Love” and “The Hotwives of Orlando.”

“Beef” will premiere on Nov 11 on EST and VOD platforms in the US and Canada, as well as on iTunes (TV Store), Vudu, TargetTicket, DirecTV, Dish and Cablevision.
