This fall, Matthew McConaughey will return to his alma mater, the University of Texas, to teach a filmmaking class.

The university announced the “Free State of Jones” actor will teach an upper-level class of 30 students alongside “Hunger Games” director Gary Ross and university lecturer Scott Rice.

A spokesperson for UT-Austin’s Moody College of Communications told MySA.com on Thursday that students will get a behind-the-scenes look at “Free State of Jones” through recorded videos giving an in-depth look at the filmmaking process. McConaughey is also scheduled for at least one in-person visit to the class.

The class was offered last spring, but students were forced to sign nondisclosure agreements and restricted from taking video or photos, as “Free State of Jones” hadn’t hit theaters until last week.

The film opened in sixth place at the box office last weekend.
