A teaser trailer for Alexander Payne’s “Downsizing” has been released, in which we get introduced to the cast of the movie that includes Kristen Wiig, Matt Damon and Christoph Waltz.
Wiig and Damon play a couple in the social satire who decide to downsize (literally, become smaller people) in order to save money and lead a better life.
The premise of the film is an interesting and inventive one, with the film seemingly exploring questions about carbon footprint, our needs over a lifetime and what we find important as people.
The film also stars Jason Sudeikis, Laura Dern and Neil Patrick Harris. CinemaCon attendees were treated to footage back in March. The auditorium erupted in laughter at certain points throughout the clip, especially when the little miniature people came out of the shrinking machine. When the clip concluded, the audience cheered.
Think a Payne-like version of “Honey, I Shrunk the Kids.”
