It looks like people are starting to come forward to take credit for the NFL “deflategate” scandal. Several oddly familiar faces cropped up on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” in a video where they said they were the ones who deflated the footballs Tom Brady was using in the AFC Championship game.
But while these guys may have resembled stars like Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Steven Tyler, Eli Roth, Dicky Barrett, Bill Simmons, Chris Evans and John Krasinski, it wasn’t actually any of them.
For one thing, the guys gave different names when they introduced themselves as part of their confessions. For another thing, their thick and in no way fake-sounding Boston accents clearly pegged them as natural-born Patriots fans.
They made it very clear that neither Tom Brady nor Bill Belichick had anything to do with it, because they were too busy being wicked awesome.
Kimmel might have gotten a little confused, too, because he confronted the guy who looked an awful lot like Matt Damon after he’d said he acted alone.
“Do you know why you acted alone?” Kimmel asked him. “Because nobody wants to act with you.”
Watch Jimmy Kimmel get in another dig at Matt Damon during the “deflategate” skit here.
“Jimmy Kimmel Live” airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on ABC.
