Marvel’s “Thor: The Dark World” has crossed the $500 million mark at the global box office, Disney said Thursday.
The 3D superhero sequel has been the No. 1 film worldwide since opening three weeks ago. It has brought in $152 million domestically, where it’s been No. 1 for the past two weeks, and $352 million overseas for a $504 million global total.

It’s the studio’s third release, and second Marvel Studios film, to do so this year, following “Iron Man 3” ($1.2 billion) and Pixar’s “Monsters University” ($743 million).
Thor: The Dark World has already passed the global box-office totals of “Captain America” ($371 million) and “Thor” ($449 million).
