“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” directors Joe and Anthony Russo have entered into a three-year first-look deal for feature films with Sony Pictures Entertainment, the company announced Tuesday.

The news comes after Marvel and Sony announced a partnership that would introduce a new Spider-Man into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, before headlining his own solo film.

“Joe and Anthony Russo are terrifically exciting filmmakers with a sensibility that matches the tastes of audiences worldwide,” said Columbia Pictures President Doug Belgrad in a statement.

The Russos’ deal with Sony begins in April.

“We’re thrilled to make a home at Sony Pictures, and to be partnering with the entire team,” the directors said. “The studio has created an environment that is not only collaborative, but truly filmmaker-friendly and we’re excited to begin developing both new and ambitious material with them.”

The Russos are directing “Captain America: Civil War,” where the new Spidey is expected to make his first appearance before his own film is released in 2017. Most recently, Drew Goddard was said to be directing though insiders later cautioned, “Drew has not yet met with Marvel but will soon; along with several others.”
