David Bowie is drawing praise for his life and career from all over the world, and now Madonna has joined the chorus of those celebrating the late rock star.
“I’m Devastated! This great Artist changed my life! First concert i ever saw in Detroit! R.IP,” the Material Girl tweeted along with a picture of Bowie as his Ziggy Stardust persona.
“Talented . Unique. Genius. Game Changer. The Man who Fell to Earth. Your Spirit Lives on Forever!” she also tweeted with another picture of Bowie.
Finally, she tweeted a picture of herself and Bowie with the words, “So lucky to have met you!!!! Hot Tramp I love you So,” a tribute to Bowie’s classic song “Rebel Rebel.”
Bowie, the musical icon known for his soaring songs and daring artistry, died on Sunday. He was 69. The legendary British singer-songwriter’s official Facebook page confirmed the news late Sunday night.
“David Bowie died peacefully today surrounded by his family after a courageous 18 month battle with cancer. While many of you will share in this loss, we ask that you respect the family’s privacy during their time of grief,” read the post.
