Macaulay Culkin Slams Tabloids Over Heroin Addiction Reports

“I was not pounding six grand of heroin every month or whatever,” says the “Home Alone” actor

Child star Macaulay Culkin has disappeared from Hollywood’s spotlight, but there’s one thing he wants the world to know — he’s not a heroin addict.

“I was not pounding six grand of heroin every month or whatever,” the “Home Alone” star told The Guardian. “The thing that bugged me was tabloids wrapping it all in this weird guise of concern. No, you’re trying to shift papers.”

Culkin has been acting since the age of four and the obsession with his life hasn’t died down much since then. Paparazzi photos of the former child star looking haggard following his breakup with Mila Kunis led to rumors that he was addicted to heroin and oxycodone.

In 2004, Culkin was arrested for possession of marijuana, clonazepam and Xanax.

When asked why the media was so obsessed with him, he didn’t seem to understand the fascination either.

“I don’t just turn my back, I actively don’t want it,” said Culkin. “The paps go after me because I don’t whore myself out.”

His rocky relationship with the media doesn’t seem to have had too much of an adverse effect on his life now.

“It’s allowed me to become the person I am, and I like me, so I wouldn’t change a thing,” he said.
