Leonardo DiCaprio‘s face when Lady Gaga squeezed by him at the Golden Globes was among the most talked-about events from Sunday night’s award show, and now, the actor has finally explained his reaction.
“Oh lord — that’s trending, huh?” DiCaprio said when Entertainment Tonight showed him and “The Revenant” director Alejandro G. Iñárritu the gif. Both men laughed.
“I just didn’t know what was passing me, that’s all!” he explained.
When Gaga walked to the stage to accept her Best Actress in a Limited Series award for her role as the Countess in “American Horror Story: Hotel,” she squeezed by DiCaprio’s table and slightly brushed the actor — who cringed and made a face as Gaga walked by.
According to Twitter analytics, both DiCaprio and Gaga were the most talked-about people from Sunday’s broadcast. The former won Best Actor in a Drama for his role in “The Revenant,” and let his environmentalist flag fly during his acceptance speech, saying,”I want to share this award with all the First Nations people represented in [‘The Revenant’] and all the indigenous communities around the world … It is time that we heard your voice and protect this planet for future generations.”
