Believe it or not, fans of the “Left Behind” book series may be begging for Kirk Cameron to take back the lead after watching the trailer for the new one starring Nicolas Cage.
“Left Behind,” a remake of the 2000 movie adaptation of the biblical best selling novel written by Tim LaHaye and Jerry Jenkins, stars Cage as a pilot who is flying through the sky when the Rapture strikes.

The first trailer (above) for the Oct. 3 release makes it look like a cheap, made-for-television movie, but it’s actually coming to theaters.
And if Christian audiences support it in the way they did recent faith-related hits “Heaven Is for Real” or “God’s Not Dead,” it might make a lot of money, too.

Stuntman Vic Armstrong directed the apocalypse thriller, which co-stars Chad Michael Murray, Jordin Sparks and Lea Thompson.
