Kevin James and Leah Remini will again play husband-and-wife on a CBS sitcom — though there’s a bit of a catch with this one.
The duo is set to reunite for the two-part season finale of “Kevin Can Wait,” James’ new CBS sitcom. Fans of “The King of Queens” (pictured above) will want to circle Monday, May 1 on their calendars. Viewers will get a double dose of nostalgia, as Remini will return the following week for the actual Season 1 finale episode.
Over the two half hours, Kevin (James) agrees to come out of retirement briefly to reprise his undercover assignment in an ongoing police investigation where he and fellow cop Vanessa Cellucci (Remini) will, once again, pose as husband and wife.
“Kevin Can Wait” stars James, Erinn Hayes, Taylor Spreitler, Mary-Charles Jones, James DiGiacomo, Ryan Cartwright, Lenny Venito, Gary Valentine and Leonard Earl Howze.
James, Rock Reuben, Rob Long, Jeff Sussman, Andy Fickman, Tony Sheehan and Steve Mosko are executive producers for CBS Television Studios in association with Sony Pictures Television.
“Kevin Can Wait” was one of the 18 series recently renewed by CBS for the 2017-2018 season.
