Fox is hoping you really, really like Will Forte. “The Last Man on Earth” is the comedian’s latest television project and it stars Will Forte, and … that’s it. It’s a rather self-explanatory show title, as Forte’s Phill Miller wakes up to find himself the literal last man on Earth.

Now, the network has released a full trailer for the comedy created by Forte. It doesn’t offer much in the way of where this premise can go, but it gives fans plenty of Will Forte and a glimpse into what his life has become now that everyone else is gone.
He does a little shopping, and dumps out food to make room for nudie mags. He visits an art museum, where he proceeds to smear peanut butter and jelly on a painting before stealing it outright. He even makes his way to Dodger Stadium, where he sings the national anthem from the pitcher’s mound. And throughout it all, he sees no reason to wear pants.

The show’s official description asks the questions, “Will he ever find another person alive on the planet? Would hoping that she is a female be asking too much?”
“The Last Man on Earth” is executive produced by Forte, directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller (“The Lego Movie”), as well as Seth Cohen. The single-camera comedy is slated for Fox’s midseason schedule.
