The cast of upcoming spy comedy “American Ultra” made no secret of their loyalty to each other and the action movie at the Los Angeles premiere on Tuesday.
Stars Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg gathered with Connie Britton, Topher Grace, Tony Hale, John Leguizamo and director Nima Nourizadeh on the red carpet at the Ace Theater Downtown L.A. to celebrate the Lionsgate film, which opens Friday.
Dressed in a Zuhair Murad floral jumpsuit and with her hair in bohemian braids, Stewart was also reunited with her “Twilight” co-star Taylor Lautner (below), as the pair looked like old pals posing for photographers.
In “American Ultra,” Eisenberg plays Mike, a West Virginia stoner with a humdrum job at an all-night grocery store. He’s a screw-up who wants only to do right by his devoted girlfriend, Phoebe (Stewart), even though he torpedoes their trip to Hawaii (where he plans to propose) by getting violently ill at the airport.
He’s conditioned to get sick anytime he tries to leave town, as it turns out, because he’s not just a stoner: He’s actually a CIA sleeper agent from an abandoned program run by Victoria (Britton).
The former “Friday Night Lights” actress, who wore a white SAFIYAA gown to the premiere, took over the role after Sharon Stone dropped out due to scheduling conflicts.
“Parenthood” star Jason Ritter was also in attendance.
Max Landis of “Chronicle” wrote the script, while Nourizadeh of “Project X” fame served as director.
“American Ultra” hits theaters Friday, Aug. 21.
