Justin Bieber and Jimmy Fallon showed off their need for speed on Tuesday’s “Tonight Show” when they paired up with NASCAR legends to race around Rockefeller Plaza.
But before you have flashbacks to Bieber’s past bad behavior behind the wheel of his Ferrari and Lamborghini, don’t worry, this time their vehicles were a lot tamer.
Along with “Modern Family” actor Jesse Tyler Ferguson and The Roots’ Tariq, the stars teamed up with Sprint Cup NASCAR drivers Jeff Gordon, Kevin Harvick, Martin Truex Jr. and Kyle Busch for a relay race outside the NBC studio.
“The first car from each team has to weave through these cones to the end of the lane, switch drivers without leaving their car and race down to the other end to tag in their teammates,” explained the late-night host.
What the little cars lacked in speed, they made up for with loud sirens, bright colors and flashing lights.
“I’ve gotta beat Bieber,” a determined Tyler Ferguson told his partner, before stalling on the turn to give up the lead.
“I’ve learned a lot street racing,” the “What Do You Mean?” singer bragged as his team secured a victory.
The NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Championship airs live from Miami at 1 p.m. ET on NBC.
