Josh Brolin Joins Marvel’s ‘Avengers’ Sequels as Villain Thanos

Josh Brolin is set to voice the villain Thanos in Marvel’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” an individual familiar with the project told TheWrap.

Thanos will first be heard in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” but the character will have a more prominent role in the studio’s “Avengers” sequels, according to one insider.

Representatives for Marvel and Brolin did not respond to multiple requests for comment Friday afternoon.

Damon Poitier played Thanos in a brief scene at the end of “The Avengers.”

Brolin is coming off three straight flops including”Gangster Squad,” “Oldboy” and “Labor Day.”

Brolin, who recently joined the cast of “Sicario,” is represented by CAA.
